Leadership
NetCentric Technologies, the developers of the CommonLook family of software and services for accessible documents, is a genuine leader in the electronic document space in general and PDF accessibility and re-use in particular.
In addition to his educational writing and seminars, our President, Duff Johnson has 16 years of experience working directly with Adobe Systems and other industry professionals in interest groups, listservs, committees and international standards bodies to improve the state of the art and to bring more choice and better reliability to the consumer.
Our CTO, Ferass Elrayes, has specialized in the development of accessibility technology since the late 1990s. Representing Canada at meetings of ISO TC 171, Ferass leads a development team with several first-to-market commercial plugins for Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word.
Board Membership in the PDF Association
Beginning in 2006 with the PDF/A Competence Center, the PDF Association exists to provide software vendors with information and resources on the various International Standards for PDF to help them make the most of their investment in PDF technology.
As adopted by the Board in January, 2011, the Mission of the PDF Association is this:
To promote Open Standards-based electronic document implementations using PDF technology through education, expertise and shared experience for stakeholders worldwide.
